Rematriating Borikén events are held in Mayaguez at CucubaNacíon, art space of the project creator Yasmín Hernández. These include the monthly series Trinchera de Ideas, (every third thursday, 5-7pm) and other events featuring folks on their rematriation journey. Off-site, virtual and related events will be posted on this page as well.

A conversation on how one artist’s journey from Brooklyn to Borikén became a multidisciplinary project documenting the rematriation journey in the archipelago and its diaspora.
This month, Rematriating Borikén project creator, Yasmín Hernández makes twelve years living in Borikén, and this summer the Rematriating Borikén project turns ten years old with the anniversary of its launch as a simple blog. In the years since, it has developed into a multidisciplinary project including the blog, podcast, interview series, painted portrait series, video series and the Trinchera de Ideas: Rematriation Conversations series. Yasmin will host this virtual conversation with intimate reflections on her own Brooklyn to Borikén journey. She will also share on documenting the collective Rematriation journey, and the lessons learned along the way.
